Narrow Boat Holidays - locations
Great Haywood

Great Haywood
At the junction of the Trent & Mersey and Staffs & Worcester Canals

Cruising Rings: Four Counties, Black
Country
, East Midlands Circuit,
Pennine Circuit

Enviably located on the crossroads of the Staffs & Worcs. and the Trent & Mersey Canals, this base and fleet are ideally sited for perfect narrow boat holidays offering a huge array of routes and canalside attractions. Head north on the Trent & Mersey and join the Caldon Canal, then cruise on to Froghall where Alton Towers theme park is only a short bus ride away.

Or, head south from the base and moor up right outside Drayton Manor Park or cruise on into the heart of Birmingham and the Gas Street Basin, for all the city’s delights. The stunning Tixall Wide is just 15 minutes cruise from the base on the Staffs & Worcs, where the canal opens up to the size of a lake and enjoys all the wildlife that goes with such an expanse of water!

Further along the Staffs & Worcs, you’ll come across Wightwick Manor and Kinver Edge both just a short walk from the canal and well worth a visit. As well as access to the four major ‘Rings’, the area abounds with stately homes, castles, gardens and pretty villages...the perfect respite after a hard day cruising!

The area is also home to some great watering holes - no trendy wine bars here! Just characterful pubs full with great food and drink!
