Our base at Trevor Wharf boasts a superb setting right next to the world famous Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, in the very heart of the Vale of Llangollen.
The Stream in the Sky carries the canal 126ft above the River Dee, and as you can imagine, the views are breathtaking. Llangollen town has a beautiful Steam Railway and a market every Tuesday well worth the two hour cruise from the base.
The Llangollen Canal itself is truly one of the most beautiful on the Waterways, with its aqueducts, tunnels, lift-bridges, (and not-too many locks!) it offers a cruise of lovely contrasts.the rolling Cheshire Plains; Shropshire’s mini-lakes, meres that team with wildfowl; The stunning splendour of the Dee Valley. We feel confident that you will enjoy a memorable cruise on this beautiful waterway. |

Bunbury Lock is the home to our base set in glorious Cheshire and on the Shropshire Union Canal. With nearby connections to the Trent and Mersey (via Middlewich Branch) and Llangollen Canals, Bunbury is ideally placed to explore these beautiful waterways, as well as being a great starting point for the Four Counties and Cheshire Rings.
Go south from the base through the Staircase Locks and onto the Middlewich Branch. Cruise onto Barbridge Junction and take in the wonderfully restored Anderton Boat Lift, where you can drop down onto the River Weaver! A stunning area of waterway, offering a truly effortless and relaxing break. |
