Stone & back
Trent Valley Head north up the Trent & Mersey Canal through the Staffordshire countryside and wooded Trent Valley. Go through Hoo Mill Lock.
Weston Soon after Weston Lock, you can stop at Bridge 80 to visit the village of Weston with The Woolpack and Saracen’s Head pubs.
Sandon Hall Continue north through the quiet meadows of the Trent Valley. You’ll pass Pitt’s Column, Sandon Park and Sandon Hall on the right. The village of Salt with its Holly Bush pub is on the left.
Sandon You’ll go through Sandon Lock, close to the village of Sandon with its Dog & Doublet pub.
Aston Bridge After Aston Lock you’ll reach the outskirts of the historic market town of Stone. Turn the boat around just before Bridge 27 and Stone Locks and moor up to visit Stone.
Stone Famous for its annual food and drink festival, Stone has a great choice of shops, pubs and restaurants, including the canalside Swan and Star pubs.
