The Pontcysyllte Aqueduct features in ‘The Immortal Man’
Steven Knight’s new Peaky Blinders movie ‘The Immortal Man’ arrives on Netflix today. There are many well-loved canal locations in the film, including the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct and our Trevor canal boat hire base.
The film makers used a helicopter to capture some of the exciting action scenes involving boats crossing the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct.
Steven Knight MBE, screenwriter and creator of Peaky Blinders, is a passionate advocate of canals and loves to feature them in his work. Other canal locations featured in ‘The Immortal Man’ movie include Gas Street Basin in Birmingham and the National Waterways Museum at Ellesmere Port. Some of the scenes from his hit Netflix series ‘House of Guinness’ were filmed at the National Waterways Museum Ellesmere Port, and many parts of the BBC’s Peaky Blinders series were made at Birmingham’s Black Country Living Museum.
Boat trips across the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct
With the help of Anglo Welsh, you can also experience crossing this UNESCO World Heritage Pontcysyllte Aqueduct on a boat. We run daily boat trips across the Aqueduct aboard our Little Star trip boat.
Adult tickets are £10 each and tickets for children under 16 are £6.
