Canal holiday departure points
All our canal boat rental bases offer a variety of routes and destinations. The right choice for you is dependent on how long you’ve got, how experienced you are, where you’d like to head for and what you’d like to do.
Choosing your departure base?
Your Anglo Welsh base is the start and finish point for your holiday, where you will unpack, load up your boat and leave your car. All routes are suitable for novices or experienced cruisers – with the exception of the Bath to Bristol route where you’ll be cruising on a tidal river. We offer narrowboat hire from all our locations, and wide beam boats from Silsden, on the Leeds & Liverpool Canal in West Yorkshire. Once you have a base in mind, take a look at the suggested route information on the relevant web pages. These will indicate how many hours’ cruising is required to reach your chosen destinations.

A range of holiday durations
Cruises can start different days of the week (except Sundays), depending on your chosen route. Holidays range from three-night weekend and four-night mid-week breaks, to a week, 10-days and two weeks, or more – the choice is yours!
Boats should be returned by 9am on the final day of your holiday – or the afternoon before if you’ve made arrangements with the booking team. Please bear this in mind when deciding where you will moor on your last night.
