Canal boat holidays on the Kennet & Avon Canal

Monkton Combe

Brassknocker Basin, Bath BA2 7JD

Experience a canal boat holiday on the Kennet & Avon Canal

This historic waterway will take you through some of the country’s best-loved landscapes, from the rolling Wiltshire Downs to leafy West Berkshire.

From our Monkton Combe base at Brassknocker Basin it takes just two hours to cruise to the UNESCO World Heritage City of Bath.

Enjoy the fresh air, spotting darting kingfishers and listening to the gentle wash of water against the side of the boat.

You can to stop off at Claverton Pumping Station, a feat of engineering in its time. Or the fascinating ‘American Museum in Britain’, based at Claverton Manor.

Or head east to the historic market town of Bradford on Avon and the Caen Hill flight of locks at Devizes.

On longer breaks you can travel on through the beautiful Vale of Pewsey to the Savernake Forest and beyond.
