Canal boat holidays on the River Thames and Oxford Canal
Boat Centre, Eynsham, Witney, Oxon, OX29 4DA
Meander west along the River Thames to Lechlade in the Cotswolds. Or head east to the dreaming spires of Oxford, the riverside meadows of Abingdon and beyond.
Peace. Quiet. Quaintness. Lechlade is a couple of days leisurely cruising and it’s the highest point to which the Thames is navigable. You’ll find St John’s Lock with its statue of Old Father Thames overlooking the water. And the bridge where the poet Shelley composed ‘A Summer Evening Churchyard’.
Or head in the other direction, and just three hours you’ll reach Oxford, ‘The City of Dreaming Spires’.
From Oxford you can cruise on along the River Thames to Abington or Wallingford. Or transfer onto the Oxford Canal and cruise to Lower Heyford and back.
On longer breaks you can continue on to Reading, Henley, Marlow and Windsor.
