Canal boat day hire

Perfect days out for birthday treats, celebrations, friends get togethers, team building and educational trips.

If you’ve ever fancied messing about on the river, but not had the confidence to do it, our canal boat day hire is a chance to dip a toe into the water… although, perhaps not literally. A great way to enjoy the experience of life on a narrow boat, share time with family and friends, or even make something of a special occasion, our day hire boats depart from selected locations around England and Wales.

All boats are equipped with everything you need for a leisurely day afloat, including a fridge and a toilet. Just bring your friends and family, food and drink, and after some expert tuition you’re away!

We have day boats at most of our bases and prices start from just £10 per person – to a maximum party size of 10. Cruising hours during the season are from 9am to 4pm.

Alcohol – a sad but necessary warning
Whilst we want everyone to enjoy their Dayboat cruise, our primary concern is for your Health & Safety and that of others on the waterway.

As such, the Base Staff will not allow excessive amounts of alcohol to be taken aboard the boats and will decline to handover any boat where they feel this may be an issue. This would result in you forfeiting your booking payment.

Equally, if any boat crew is reported causing disruption on the waterway due to unruly behaviour, the crew will be escorted from the boat and all payments and security deposits will be forfeited. The crew would also be reported to the Waterway authorities, which could result in prosecution.
